At Microsoft Ignite 2024, happening in November, Microsoft will showcase their new Copilot Studio. It will allow you to create and customise AI agents, dedicated to your own business tasks. They will also be releasing new autonomous assistants to help with sales, service, finance, and supply chain teams.

AMD Launches new AI Chips
Chip maker AMD launches their new AI-focussed Instinct MI325X chip. This is meant as a competitor to Nvidia’s forthcoming Blackwell chips, with the hopes that AMD can gain some of the datacentre market share currently dominated by Nvidia.

Celebrities Unite Against AI
Over 10,000 people working in the creative industry—including notable celebrities like Björn Ulvaeus, Julianne Moore, and Thom Yorke—have signed a statement claiming that the unlicensed use of their work in training AI models is a "major, unjust threat" to their livelihoods. Numerous authors, including Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, are already suing OpenAI, with threats of more to come.

AI Helping to Combat Billions in Fraud
The US Treasury Department has been using machine learning to, amongst other things, analyse cheque data to spot fraud. In fiscal year 2024 alone, the Treasury Department claims to have prevented and recovered over $4 billion worth of fraud (a six-fold increase from the previous year).
