Robo Docs Coming to Operating Rooms
Surgical robots have been trained to perform complex surgeries just by watching videos. The researchers from Johns Hopkins University and Stanford University claim that the robots performed just as well as humans in its trained tasks (including picking up a needle, manipulating body tissues and suturing), and did so without having to be manually programmed with each distinct action.
Apple AI Digging Into Smart Home Market
Apple is moving further into the AI hardware space with what is rumoured to be a wall-mounted display with built-in Siri and Apple Intelligence. This move into the smart home market will be interesting, and a new "form factor" for IOS apps to inhabit.
Is The Pace of LLM Training and Development Slowing?
Progress on OpenAI's newest model (codenamed "Orion") continue, but the pace of training is reportedly much slower than with its previous models. One theory for this slower pace is a lack of high-quality training data being available.

BCG research has indicated that, despite widespread investment and talent acquisitions in the AI space, only 22% of companies have advanced beyond the proof-of-concept stage to actually generate value. And only 4% of companies are creating "substantial value".
