Robo Docs Coming to Operating Rooms
Surgical robots have been trained to perform complex surgeries just by watching videos. The researchers from Johns Hopkins University and Stanford University claim that the robots performed just as well as humans in its trained tasks (including picking up a needle, manipulating body tissues and suturing), and did so without having to be manually programmed with each distinct action.

Apple AI Digging Into Smart Home Market
Apple is moving further into the AI hardware space with what is rumoured to be a wall-mounted display with built-in Siri and Apple Intelligence. This move into the smart home market will be interesting, and a new "form factor" for IOS apps to inhabit.

OpenAI Loses Another VP
Another key member of OpenAI is leaving. Lilian Weng, VP of Research and Safety, has announced her departure from the company after seven years. This is happening on the heels of other company leaders (notably those in areas of safety), and is raising questions around the company's commitment to safety as it plows towards commercial profit.

Are Companies Actually Finding Value with AI?
BCG research has indicated that, despite widespread investment and talent acquisitions in the AI space, only 22% of companies have advanced beyond the proof-of-concept stage to actually generate value. And only 4% of companies are creating "substantial value".
